Ben T. Castle (1938-2019)
Ben T. Castle practiced law for more than 50 years, 25 of those exclusively in personal injury law, and all of them in Delaware. Unfortunately Ben passed away on January 8, 2019.
His legacy continues at Hudson, Castle & Inkell, LLC where Bruce and Josh exemplify Ben’s commitment to his clients and excellence in the law. The Delaware State Bar Association Bar Journal featured a piece on Ben, which may be found here. Ben is survived by his loving wife, Nikki, and three children.
Originally from New Mexico, Ben received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and was admitted to the Delaware bar in 1965. He began a career in law understanding it was going to be challenging, but with the satisfaction of knowing his commitment would always be genuine.
With specialties in medical negligence, surgeon liability, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and obstetrical malpractice, Ben’s years of experience enabled him to quickly make informed and honest judgments about the merits of any personal injury claim and gave him the skills and tenacity to do what needed to be done to obtain what was rightfully due to his clients.
Ben had the privilege and honor of being one of the 100 members of the elite, invitation-only Inner Circle of Advocates, a distinction only offered to the best plaintiff lawyers in the United States.
To be considered, an attorney must have at least three verdicts of $1,000,000 or more and 50 personal injury case verdicts. Ben was the only lawyer in the organization from Delaware.
The mix worked. Hudson, Castle & Inkell, LLC has been named one of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Law Firms since 2013. One of their largest victories was the recent multimillion-dollar settlement for victims of pediatrician Dr. Earl Bradley, the most serious and prolific pedophile ever documented, with more than 1,200 children, from babies to 12 year olds, affected.
Hudson, Castle & Inkell, LLC filed the class action suit after realizing the 30 lawsuits they originally took on were just scratching the surface. They eventually represented hundreds of children and their families, along with other law firms, and the case took three years of time and effort, but the $123,000,000 result was a major victory for their clients.
